29 Things I’ve Learned in My 20s–At The Age of 21

  1. People who you thought would be part of your life forever will leave you in an instant and you’ll spend nights wishing you can redo what you did wrong in order to get them back.
  2. Confidence is always going to be your key to success. Even if you don’t have a clue on what you’re doing.
  3. Always drink water, stay away from caffeinated and carbonated drinks.
  4. Reconnecting with old friends is sometimes one of the best remedies.
  5. Drunk texting is not sexy.
  6. Watch the news for 5 mins or if you’ve Twitter, follow your local news station to keep updated with the world. This is a great way to start a conversation with strangers.
  7. You’ll feel lonely plenty of nights, but remember you are never alone.
  8. From time to time, go out with your girlfriends and lose yourself in the music.
  9. If you think someone is attractive, talk to them.  It’s okay for girls to make the first move.
  10. Your friends will always push you to do things, this is a good thing but sometimes you’ve got to gather up the courage and learn how to say ‘No’.
  11. Rushing into a relationship is not an ideal thing to do.
  12. Breaking up with a person when you’re drunk is also not an ideal thing to do.
  13. You don’t need to explain your actions to anyone because this is your life.
  14. Always read. Be it a novel, an article, a poem, etc.
  15. Pray when life is rough.
  16. Pray when life is great.
  17. Make time for your family, they will always be your rock.
  18. People will use you when they’re bored as if you’re a cigarette, but the trick is to be like drugs to them—make them get addicted to you.
  19. Do not be afraid. Look at #2.
  20. Music is life. Listen to music. Play music. Breathe music. Repeat.
  21. Go on hikes to different places and take pictures of your view.

  23. Stay active because healthy is sexy.
  24. Tattoos hurt and are addictive, choose wisely.
  25. Mistakes are okay.
  26. Green tea makes everything feel better.  
  27. Saving up money for that trip will always be the hardest thing to do.
  28. Saving money IS the hardest thing to do.
  29. Self-love is beautiful.
